I had so much fun doing these PLP’s for a swap with my ppl friends Katie and Victoria. I have so many things i collected for this i could do another two lol. I decided id do something different from the Prima Doll craze thats happening ( even though i love those) . So in keeping with the steam punk theme i thought id use the lady i now refer to as Nas. On the second i used the mannequin design. For the background i used copies of art media i had created. So the image on the second of the girl with wings is now known as Penelope lol. yeah ok im strange just roll with it, its so much easier ..hahaha. I tried to match up the goodies with the colours on the front so if my ladies want to use anything it all goes. I also added little trinkets to match as well.

She is so wonderful i could watch for hours and i have lol, she makes me want to paint which ive never really considered since secondary school. She makes me laugh so much as well and she just has this wonderful soul. So i highly recommend you check out this lady… ps i want her hats.

i then have to finish doing my first grandchilds mini album.. which ive been collecting so much stuff for i could do several lol.
Im thinking of starting an etsy shop when i get some health improvement too…
Brains just buzzing with things i want to do… so keep an eye out craftmates.. (trying out some names for you all lol)

Ive been bitten by the mixed media bug… I had to start this one last night before i went to bed at 1 am covered in blue ink and glitter lol. I started by putting a bit of mica powder and sprayed all over the watercolour paper. Then i sprayed with Dylusions Ink Spray , vibrant turquoise, london blue and few splotches (technical term) of black marble. I used the black to break up all the blue. I dont know if you can see in the pictures but the mica powder in the water spray made everything sparkly. I should have called my blog the magpie lol cos if it sparkles i fall in love lol.

I then used modelling paste and mixed in cloudy blue Adirondack dabber. It was a little less harsh than white but was still vibrant enough to show up when i used it on a stencil. No idea whose stencil as i have a nasty habit of throwing away packaging. Any i also turned it over and pressed down on the reverse side so i had two effects from the stencil. I used a Darkroom Door quote stamp. Masquerading as a normal person day after day is exhausting. I then used gel medium to stick on my Santoro characters from a decoupage kit. I often split decoupage kits up to get more bang for my buck so to speak lol. I then used a beautiful butterfly from Reneabouquets https://www.etsy.com/shop/Reneabouquets?ref=fp_shop&aref=8811777022 / Reneabouquets Butterfly Set – Mosaic Tile Butterflies, Scrapbook Embellishment, Wedding, Home Decor, Party Decoration I just love her etsy shop its full of goodies !! The dragonfly is one of my own creations. I then fixed two brass watch face brads on, a couple of Santoro buttons and random small hearts and butterflies.

To finish i used gel medium to cover the whole page. I loved my page. I have already started my next page lol and gessoed a notebook to decorate…. fun fun fun

Well i’m quite proud of my first attempt at Mixed media art journalling.I really enjoyed myself and learnt a couple of lessons on the way. I started with a verse i copied from FB and went with it.Now i cant wait to do some more…….

This is water colour paper, a4 sized.

I wanted a grungy vintage feel so i tore down the edges

Im rubbish at tearing lol so this is a handy fiskars tool i use

I used Gesso at first, as i was working i realised i didnt need to do that but its all about the learning!!!

This is decopatch paper that i used a gel medium on to a)stick it down and cover it

I used a spatula to cover the whole of the page.

I thought id try the rule of three i use in other projects . Stuff always looks more pleasing in threes i think. So i used the decopatch papers

I wanted to acheive greys and greens in the overall colour scheme as the main piece that i was using incorporated those colours. I used distress inks,and blended from dark to loight fro the outside of the page in using a baby wipe.

for some reason i buggered up a bit and i couldn’t understand why my blending was rubbish i realised id used a matte gel medium to cover the page. I re covered it with a gloss gel and re applied the distress ink and it worked better.

Once it was all dry i spritzed with some Dylusions ink spray (dirty Martini and white linen. I blended inwards with a baby wipe.I used modelling paste with a ranger Harlequin stencil. I mixed black distress ink in with the paste. so it stood out.

I then used an Indigo Blue verse stamp with versamark black soot

I the used Gel medium to cover and stick down my main piece whihc is a verese i pinched from FB

I just loved this so i copied it, cut it out, distressed the edges

I then used Alphabet stamps with a staz on ink .. Live One day at a time… Thats what i have to do

Feeling sad

My babies have gone to the cattery for their holidays, complete with food, toys, grooming kit and ..yes.. their own passports. i made them both a mini mini album with pictures of them in. Tags with notes on their likes and dislikes and space to put pictures of them in that Carly will take for me of them in the cattery.

Jasmine made a bid for freedom as soon as her carry basket was opened and Ebony didnt even poke her head out. Its the first time they have been in the cattery so im anxious. Jasmine hated having to stay at the vets for one night when she had to have her teeth out!!

Jasmine is my big baby, a ragdoll. We got her from a farm that had over bred her and she was a mess when she arrived at her forever home. She walked into our house as if she owned it straight away lol.She had no clue what toys where but soon learned and still has her favourite toy Lamby which she often ;;hunts;; and brings to me. During my long term ill health i regulaly have to stay in bed for days at a time and she never leaves my side other than to eat and use her litter tray.

Ebony.. Well ebs is also a rescue cat. Some evil idiot had cut all her whiskers and done god knows what else to her. I knew when i took her on it would be a long haul job. She has been worth it even if she and jazzy have a daily spat. Its been a year and a half since we got her and i can just about pick her up for a cuddle. We have gone on her time scale. she is soo funy though. Each morning she waits by her dish and if im not quick enough she tries to hurry me up by nipping my ankles little horror lol. if she wants a stroke she comes and paws you, if you stop and she isnt ready for you to stop you get a gentle nip. She is turning out to be quite a character. she now has beautiful long whiskers!!!

I am missing my girlies so much already
